TAGLINE:
Doors are closed..there's no where to run..who do you turn to?

WHOLE SYNOPSIS FILM:
When 17 year old girl Nadia gets too deeply caught up in a world of her own illusions does she only realise she’s far too deep to get out. Caught up in drugs and brushing off her religious expectations she finally grasps on to reality, that her friends are not really her friends and drugs is not a girls best friend. All doors are locked in her face, who will she turn to for help?

PLOT:
We have four fast scenes introducing the themes that will occur in the film. First of two boys exchanging drugs, second of a girl being bullied in school toilets by two older girls, third of two boys fighting and fourth of an intimate scene of a boy and girl. A 17 year old boy Jamal is working with drugs and is promising to his customers that he will give them their share as long as they pay. However he has no plan of giving them anything, clearly drowning himself in deep taboo. We're also introduced to a girl who comes from a muslim family, however due to her life outside of the house revolving around her hijab she takes it off a long with her insecurity as a teenager. Her 'friend' Tanisha introduces her to the world of drugs and sex where she drowns in her own troubles with no friend including Tanisha to get her out of it.

CASTS:
Director – Rashaa Albani
Producer – Adam Ayaddi + Rukhsar Barakzai

CHARACTERS IN THE FILM:
Adam - Jamal
Rukhsar - Nadia
Anita - Tanisha

COSTUMES:
The costumes the characters wear are street-like and would be categorised as ghetto. It reflects on today’s trends youths tend to follow and creates a sense of realism in the movie. The costumes also reflect on the characters revealing their personalities and giving the audience a first impression of what these people may be like. It allows the audience to feel a step closer to knowing a bit about them.

SOUND:
We researched a variety of soundtracks that would best suit our opening sequence and we have found a particular genre: GRIME.
The track was found on you tube called The Last Straw by Giggs. This track is not a copyright so we will be able to use it successfully.

TARGET AUDIENCE:
This urban social realism film is aimed at mostly teenage youths as arguably it’s the kind of situations that goes on around them and would intrigue them.
The lifestyle our target audience would lead a so called “streetlife” the way youths of today live their lives which is potenially negative.
The age would be 15+ and the brands that youths would recognise are nike, adidas, g-shock, blackberry, converses etc.
Our target audience would be interested in media like computer games, music, internet, TV, films etc.

INFLUENCES:
As a group we were influenced by the use of split screens used in the opening sequences of Adulthood and thought it would be a good idea to use it in our own opening sequence. It created a lot of excitement which is important for a beginning of any movie as it would bring the audience in, which is widely important.
The music was another thing we really liked. It was very urban like which suited the genre. We thought that making a soundtrack similar to the one used in Adulthood, it would be the perfect idea as we need non diegetic sounds to reflect the atmosphere of what's going on in the opening scene of the film.

GENRE:
As a group we chose to base our film’s genre on urban social realism as we wanted to address issues to do with today’s London society and the impact it is having on today’s generation of youths.

LOCATION:
Harrow Road, Maryland Road and Paddington Academy.
The reason for this loaction is because it's full of working class people and teenagers who come from working class background tend to be the troubled ones and the victims of drowning into taboo. Also the location of a school creates a sense of realism as a school is where teenagers spends most their teenage lives and therefore we are able to see how it affects their lives.

Day Nine of Editing

Unfortunately today was a very disappointing day for us as a group, this is because this morning when I opened up final cut to add the credits to our opening scene I had discovered that our opening scene had been cut out and many of our shots and editing had been deleted. This was a very shocking and ungraceful moment, it had felt like we had wasted every second we spent on this opening scene, taken as time and commitment to come up with a product like that. As we looked around we were the only production team who had been in this position and it had felt like there is no way we can start all over again with something that took over 20 hours to do and be able to finish it in a few hours. However this was a time where we had to be strong and move on with a fresh start. We still haven't found out why this could have happened. A possible reason could be that it was not saved properly. This was a very time consuming issue and we fell behind with many other things that were needed to be done.

Day Eight of Editing

Today is planned to be our last day of editing, during todays editing session I played around with all the effects that we could use and all the types of fonts ,colors that made a better look to our opening sequence. We spent alto of time on our opening sequence, we decided all our final choices of effects, music, shots and fonts. We stayed after school until 6.00 today normally we would stay until 5.00, however this made a difference to our product. We had time to think about all the other things e.g. last minute blogging and paperwork. This was a very successful day for us due to us nearly finishing our opening sequence. The only thing that is left for us to do is add the credits at the beginning of the movie sequence and this can be done anytime because it's something that can be done really quickly.

Day Seven of editing

Today once again I continued the editing. I recorded our voice over for our opening sequence, this was meant to be done in a narrative style this is a way we can engage with our audience. Today we also picked background musics for our opening sequence, for this task we as a group had to be there and decide for the background music to keep in mind each other's likes and dislikes. Mrs slevin helped us out with a lot of choices today she gave us very good advices that could benefit our production. However we also stayed after school to improve our opening scene. During this time we also had a lot of issues e.g. all the other subjects that needed the same attention and all our exams are coming up. Taking this in mind we had to organise our timing for each of our subjects.

Day Six of Editing

Today we are starting to edit or opening sequence in order, this means since we have put every shot in order we can start making every shot look clean and put in some effects that are needed to make the opening sequence look attractive to our target audience who are the teenagers and youths. Today Adam couldn't really do any editing this was because he had to answer a question our PowerPoint presentation, so therefore I had carry on the editing from here. As I was editing I had realised a scene in our sequence had missing audio, this was due to the camera's setting be for we started to film while filming the scene. However due to this reason I had the film the scene again, this was very time consuming and took most of our editing time. However we got through this and had to come after school to make up for the time that was wasted.

Day five of editing.

Today we're continuing with our editing. Adam is adding casts names in the appropriate places within the sequence. We negotiated about the type of font to use for them; I offered the idea of using the same font that was used in the beginning which is sophisticated but Adam and Rukhsar suggested using the same gritty font as the title 'Urban Tales' so it would reflect on the genre of the film itself. I agreed in the end that it would be a good idea to use their idea so we went with that. After that Adam started with the actual editing, he added slow motion to the part where he is walking towards the camera and then added a black and white greayscale effect. During the time the black and white effect is in place we put a 11second pause where Rukhsar's voiceover will take place. We then negotiated about which background track to use at the tiem the voiceover takes place, it will be really low so the voiceover is clear enough to hear however the track can also be heard.
