Doors are closed..there's no where to run..who do you turn to?
WHOLE SYNOPSIS FILM:
When 17 year old girl Nadia gets too deeply caught up in a world of her own illusions does she only realise she’s far too deep to get out. Caught up in drugs and brushing off her religious expectations she finally grasps on to reality, that her friends are not really her friends and drugs is not a girls best friend. All doors are locked in her face, who will she turn to for help?
PLOT:
We have four fast scenes introducing the themes that will occur in the film. First of two boys exchanging drugs, second of a girl being bullied in school toilets by two older girls, third of two boys fighting and fourth of an intimate scene of a boy and girl. A 17 year old boy Jamal is working with drugs and is promising to his customers that he will give them their share as long as they pay. However he has no plan of giving them anything, clearly drowning himself in deep taboo. We're also introduced to a girl who comes from a muslim family, however due to her life outside of the house revolving around her hijab she takes it off a long with her insecurity as a teenager. Her 'friend' Tanisha introduces her to the world of drugs and sex where she drowns in her own troubles with no friend including Tanisha to get her out of it.
CASTS:
Director – Rashaa Albani
Producer – Adam Ayaddi + Rukhsar Barakzai
CHARACTERS IN THE FILM:
Adam - Jamal
Rukhsar - Nadia
Anita - Tanisha
COSTUMES:
The costumes the characters wear are street-like and would be categorised as ghetto. It reflects on today’s trends youths tend to follow and creates a sense of realism in the movie. The costumes also reflect on the characters revealing their personalities and giving the audience a first impression of what these people may be like. It allows the audience to feel a step closer to knowing a bit about them.
SOUND:
We researched a variety of soundtracks that would best suit our opening sequence and we have found a particular genre: GRIME.
The track was found on you tube called The Last Straw by Giggs. This track is not a copyright so we will be able to use it successfully.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
This urban social realism film is aimed at mostly teenage youths as arguably it’s the kind of situations that goes on around them and would intrigue them.
The lifestyle our target audience would lead a so called “streetlife” the way youths of today live their lives which is potenially negative.
The age would be 15+ and the brands that youths would recognise are nike, adidas, g-shock, blackberry, converses etc.
Our target audience would be interested in media like computer games, music, internet, TV, films etc.
INFLUENCES:
As a group we were influenced by the use of split screens used in the opening sequences of Adulthood and thought it would be a good idea to use it in our own opening sequence. It created a lot of excitement which is important for a beginning of any movie as it would bring the audience in, which is widely important.
The music was another thing we really liked. It was very urban like which suited the genre. We thought that making a soundtrack similar to the one used in Adulthood, it would be the perfect idea as we need non diegetic sounds to reflect the atmosphere of what's going on in the opening scene of the film.
GENRE:
As a group we chose to base our film’s genre on urban social realism as we wanted to address issues to do with today’s London society and the impact it is having on today’s generation of youths.
LOCATION:
Harrow Road, Maryland Road and Paddington Academy.
The reason for this loaction is because it's full of working class people and teenagers who come from working class background tend to be the troubled ones and the victims of drowning into taboo. Also the location of a school creates a sense of realism as a school is where teenagers spends most their teenage lives and therefore we are able to see how it affects their lives.

Day Nine of Editing
Unfortunately today was a very disappointing day for us as a group, this is because this morning when I opened up final cut to add the credits to our opening scene I had discovered that our opening scene had been cut out and many of our shots and editing had been deleted. This was a very shocking and ungraceful moment, it had felt like we had wasted every second we spent on this opening scene, taken as time and commitment to come up with a product like that. As we looked around we were the only production team who had been in this position and it had felt like there is no way we can start all over again with something that took over 20 hours to do and be able to finish it in a few hours. However this was a time where we had to be strong and move on with a fresh start. We still haven't found out why this could have happened. A possible reason could be that it was not saved properly. This was a very time consuming issue and we fell behind with many other things that were needed to be done.

Day Eight of Editing
Today is planned to be our last day of editing, during todays editing session I played around with all the effects that we could use and all the types of fonts ,colors that made a better look to our opening sequence. We spent alto of time on our opening sequence, we decided all our final choices of effects, music, shots and fonts. We stayed after school until 6.00 today normally we would stay until 5.00, however this made a difference to our product. We had time to think about all the other things e.g. last minute blogging and paperwork. This was a very successful day for us due to us nearly finishing our opening sequence. The only thing that is left for us to do is add the credits at the beginning of the movie sequence and this can be done anytime because it's something that can be done really quickly.

Day Seven of editing
Today once again I continued the editing. I recorded our voice over for our opening sequence, this was meant to be done in a narrative style this is a way we can engage with our audience. Today we also picked background musics for our opening sequence, for this task we as a group had to be there and decide for the background music to keep in mind each other's likes and dislikes. Mrs slevin helped us out with a lot of choices today she gave us very good advices that could benefit our production. However we also stayed after school to improve our opening scene. During this time we also had a lot of issues e.g. all the other subjects that needed the same attention and all our exams are coming up. Taking this in mind we had to organise our timing for each of our subjects.

Day Six of Editing
Today we are starting to edit or opening sequence in order, this means since we have put every shot in order we can start making every shot look clean and put in some effects that are needed to make the opening sequence look attractive to our target audience who are the teenagers and youths. Today Adam couldn't really do any editing this was because he had to answer a question our PowerPoint presentation, so therefore I had carry on the editing from here. As I was editing I had realised a scene in our sequence had missing audio, this was due to the camera's setting be for we started to film while filming the scene. However due to this reason I had the film the scene again, this was very time consuming and took most of our editing time. However we got through this and had to come after school to make up for the time that was wasted.

Day five of editing.
Today we're continuing with our editing. Adam is adding casts names in the appropriate places within the sequence. We negotiated about the type of font to use for them; I offered the idea of using the same font that was used in the beginning which is sophisticated but Adam and Rukhsar suggested using the same gritty font as the title 'Urban Tales' so it would reflect on the genre of the film itself. I agreed in the end that it would be a good idea to use their idea so we went with that. After that Adam started with the actual editing, he added slow motion to the part where he is walking towards the camera and then added a black and white greayscale effect. During the time the black and white effect is in place we put a 11second pause where Rukhsar's voiceover will take place. We then negotiated about which background track to use at the tiem the voiceover takes place, it will be really low so the voiceover is clear enough to hear however the track can also be heard.

Day four of editing.
Today's the fourth day of editing, we're capturing the new scenes that we've filmed the day before. We're using a firewire to capture the scenes. It isn't taking as long today which is great and an advantage because we can move on to to the important stuff like editing. We're deleting the scene's we don' need, like the bloopers parts. We're also now slotting all the scenes in order so that we can start editing transitions etc. We have a scene where we're not sure where to place and therefore we've asked Miss George to watch our video and give us her comments and advice, she said: she likes our establishing shot however she didn't like our font that says 'urban tales' and now we're working on changing it. We've changed it to a more british-like font and Miss George approved of it and said it looks much better We used the program 'live type' to edit the font. We've decided to add a split screen of two types fo bulying going on which is representative of today's society. This will help bost our marks and get us in that band four.

Day 3 of Editing
Today is our 3rd day of capturing. Its the second lesson 11.10 and Adam is capturing the filming that I did on the weekend that was needed for our establishing shots. When me and Adam finished capturing we started to begin with our editing. we started off with our logo the initials of Soreal Production, this is a way we can brand our production so the audience can recognise our production of our brand. Moving on, we placed the establishing shots that me and Adam choose out of our selection, we both agreed with the shoots we are going to use. As we are placing the scenes in order we also added our chosen background music, to help us picture how the opening scene is going to look. After half an hour me and Adam, (mostly Adam am just always telling him what to put where)have edited the first 45 seconds of our opening sequence. We showed miss Slevin what we produced in our first session of editing and she was very pleased. This made me and Adam very pleased and gave us the feeling that we are on track and we can do this.

Day 2 of editing.
We're continuing to capture the recordsings using a camera, its taking an exceptionally long time yet again however we thought of doing something else while we wait. We're listening to soundtracks that appeal to us in order to make an informed decision on which one we would like to use. I think we've laid our minds on the intrumental soundtrack byu Giggs as it really suits the urban theme of our film. We now decided to start focusing on our style of text, how our whole production will open, the title 'soreal productions' etc. We want the writing to be sophisticated and a normal size so it doesn't look too over the top. We've chosen to use black, blue and grey, the colours of our blog, these colours are associated with our production company 'soreal productions.' I think consuming our time doing something we need to work on while our film caputures saves time, as we wouldn't have to think about it or do it later as we would have already done it before.

Day 1 of Editing.
Today is day one of editing. Rukhsar and Adam are trying to upload the filming we've done so far however it's taking an extremely long time to capture, the recording keeps freezing and won't let us capture. As a result we're shutting it down and starting all over again to see if it'll work this time round. We decided to try capturing everything we've filmed on the tape from the start however the same problem is still occuring over again. This is effecting our production because it's really time consuming as we could be editing now. From our experience with the technology we are using when uploading the premliminary task, we suggested swapping macs because it could be the reason why the process of capturing is not working. As we predicted the process of uploading and capturing the recording is going smoothly and well however it is time consuming but it's definately worth the wait!

PRODUCTION DIARY.
DAY ONE:
Day one of filming. We decided to film the scene in the toilet with Tanisha and her friend bullying another girl in the toilets. We had a few difficulties with the acting but we were able to capture the whole scene. The toilets were really hot and kept having to take breaks in between the filming so that the actors could resume themselves. Alot fo people kept coming into the toilet and we had to forcefully send them away in order to finish the filming quickly! It took us around thirty minutes to film and we got a few bloopers on the way!
DAY TWO:
Tonight Rukhsar said she'll film the establishing shot. She filmed it from her balcony as she had the perfect view of the setting our film is based in, it can't get better then that can it? She had the tripod so it took her very little time to film it. However when she was done she saw a group of people below sitting in the park and decided to film it as it's a typical view of a group of teenagers up to no good and what is our film reflecting on? Exactly! It was a coincidence and we couldn't believe our luck!
DAY THREE:
Today we're filming two scenes. The scene with two boys fighting and the intimate scene. It was realy easy to find the characters who would film as a lot of people had a free lesson and were eager to help us. It was lesson time and the corridors and playgrounds were empty so we decided to take advantage of the space ans start filming as soon as possible. We filmed the fighting scene first in the playground and took us just a couple of minutes as we didn't need dialogue because music will be playing when the scene appears. The boys were really helpful and happy to help, so thanks. We then filmed the intimate scene. This one was a lot more difficlut as the characters were laughing and joking around because they were a little embarassed *blushes* and alot of the girls had a try with the same guy: Jorge, and in the end Arta was able to crack it, so well done and thanks!
DAY FOUR:
This is our second day of filming. We've filmed the scene of Jamal (Adam) on the phone having a conversation about his drug business. We didn't have much diffiiculties filming except that it was windy and we were worried that it would affect the audio of the dialogue however it didn't and it was fine. However we also had dfficulites filming smoothly because a lot of people were walking past and we had to keep pausing in order for them to walk past and let us proceed. That did affect us in terms of time as it took us a while to get it all done especially with the mistakes that happened (bloopers.
DAY FIVE:
This is our third day of filming. We decided to film the scene of Tanisha bullying another girl. It was quite fun as the characters were our friends and we had Alot of bloopers when we were done. It did not take long to film, perhaps around an 30 minutes? However when we came to capture this on the imac, the audio wasn't there and so we had to go out and film it all over again!
This time the characters we had before were no able to do it so we decided to ask other people as we couldn't wait any longer to get filming otherwise we could risk being behind. So we got Fatna and Sarah and Ali and Adnan to be our characters. They were really eager to do it and had a lot of fun at the same time. Cheers Guys!
DAY SIX:
Today was day four of Filming. We're filming Rukhsar's part where she takes off her hijab. We were really looking foward to filming this scene as it's a really shocking part. We didn't have any difficulties but with people walking past every now and then resulted in us filming over and ovr again until there were no distractions. However like the previous day there was no audio when we captured it. Therefore Rukhsar had to get up early in the morning to get the filming done once again and we were really delighted as it came out to be better then before. Additionally as it was early in the morning there wasn't much people and so it was easier to film and quicker!

BRANDS AND COSTUMES FOR ''URBAN TALES''
BRANDS AND COSTUMES FOR ''URBAN TALES''
Nadia will be wearing a black headscarf, known as a Hijab. This will be used to create a verismilitude image of a muslim girl.

Jamal will also be wearing a branded jacket from uniqlo. This is a hooded jacket. Hoodies are one of the compulsory items of our costumes because it represents teenagers, the hood, criminals. This is a way we can represent and create Gangs and teenagers.
Tanisha will be wearing ''hoops'' and ''chains'' to create a verisimilitude effect of working class girls who are mostly troublemakers and own a ''chavey'' style.
The following items are many ways which make up ''URBAN TALES'' and will be included in the opening sequence, which will make a verisimilitude image of the themes in ''URBAN TALES.''

Musical inspirations for film opening
We were inspired with hip hop soundtracks mostly instrumentals that give a strong effect to our opening sequence. The following instrumentals were very catchy when we listened to it, it had something that the young youths and teens would like in today's urban society. These soundtracks also gave a verisimilitude effect of a Urban realism film to our opening sequence, this is because we hear the same genre of music in movies that we are inspired to e.g. kidulthood and Adulthood. These soundtracks will give you an insight to our musical choice for our film.I hope you enjoy it.

Urban Tales Script
SCRIPT
(Voiceover while these three scenes appear)
People say life’s a bitch, but I think people made it that way. I heard that the meaning of life is to be happy and useful, but I feel neither. I look around me and no one is actually happy so I think it’s safe to say that in life everything has been figured out, except for one thing. How to live it.
(Low fast music in the background)
Fast cut scenes of conventions of urban realism:
LS & LA – A group of teenagers huddled together at 1:00 am in the morning outside.
MS – Two boys are exchanging money and drugs.
Panning – An intimate scene of a girl and boy leaning against the wall.
EXT. – Harrow Road, London, NW10, UK – A cold day on March.
LS – Jamal is walking as he’s talking on the phone and then it pauses as a still of Jamal.
Nadia
(Voiceover)
This is Jamal. He’s my boyfriend. All the boys want to be like him, they all think they know him. But the truth is he don’t even know who he is – a pussycat inside.
CS – Jamal is talking on the phone with a look of annoyance however arrogance too. He keeps looking from side to side, perhaps wondering if anyone can see him.
Jamal
(Talking to the person on the line)
Yeah yeah man, I’ll fix you up with that stuff in no time, don’t watch fam, you get me.
MS – As Jamal continues the conversation on the phone, he puts the phone to his shoulder and gives a face of agony and lip signs (oh my God!) He then returns the phone to his ear and resumes listening to the person on the line.
Jamal
(annoyed)
Alright man cool, I said I’ll set you up, yeah cool safe.
MS – Tanisha is sitting on a table at school with her friends and starts to pick on a girl that walks past, perhaps from a feeling of insecurity about her self.
Tanisha
(Disgustingly)
Err man, look at her shoes!
(Tanisha’s friend)
Ugly!
MS – A still shot of Tanisha and her friend.
Nadia
(Voiceover)
This is Tanisha. She’s my best friend. All the girls want to be like her. She comes across as a bit of a wastegash and she always wants to be the boss.
EXT. – Outside Nadia’s house, Harrow Road, NW10, UK – A cold day on March.
ES – Nadia closes the door and walks up the path of the house on to the road and goes around to the corner hurriedly. She takes off her scarf rapidly and shoves it in her school bag and answers the phone.
Nadia
(Looks confident now.)
Hello... yeah...I’ll be there.

Preliminary Task-Rukshar Barakzai
In our preliminary task we decided to link it to our story of our opening sequence. We have a misbehaved teen with his teacher going mad with his disgusted behaviour.this sequence is verisimilitude to a school atmosphere, this is because its also set in a school. We had a inexperienced cameraman to film or preliminary this was not a very good idea but it helped us finish before our deadline.
Hope you enjoy it.

Kidulthood is a teenage movie directed by (Menhay Huda.)It's based on teenagers that live in London and the troubles that they face, which occurs all in one day. The first sequence of the movie we are introduced to a realistic location of a school playground portraying youths in the middle of their own activities. Youths is the central theme of the film. The characters are all introduced in the school playground, we see each of the characters socialising with their friends. From this, we as the audience can get a portrayed image of each character.
The setting of the first sequence being in a playground creates a verisimilitude image. As the sequence moves on we see the types of trouble each of the characters go through. For example, fights and bullying are two of the main issues we see in the first sequence. The first sequence creates a very urban vibe to the movie, which allows Young teenagers that go through hard times to relate to the narration. This is a great way they can reach their target audience and attract the ones that are unaware.
The use of camera shots, angles and movements are very effective in this first sequence. The following in my opinion captured a lot of the audiences attention:a close up on a boy playing football on the muddy grass with his school shoes, this close up shot can represent youth and can also show the audience what the school environment looks like. Its a low state unorganised school, this is obvious when we see the decayed grass with mud all over.
In terms of camera movements we see a tracking dolly movement at the beginning of the sequence when we are introduced to the characters. This puts the audience in a position where they feel a little uneasy because of the fast racing past of the movement.
We see a low angle shot of the girl that's being bullied, which represents the power of the characters, the girl being bullied is weak and helpless and the bully is shown as powerful through the low camera angle.
The use of mise en scene in the first sequence builds up the whole school environment. For example the school uniforms can make the audience foresee what age group or location they are about to preview, also the school uniforms been worn in a careless way which could suggest that the school students are careless as their appearance gives a first impression. This also is linked with the stereotypical image of teenagers to today's generation.
The use of editing creates a lot of tension in the school playground when a fight is about to start, this is were the fast pace editing comes in and builds tension, this makes the audience feel uneasy and also look forward to the narration.
However the use of sound from the beginning of the sequence builds tension and stress. The non-digectic soundtrack went really smooth with the narration and once again built tension and makes the audience focus and look forward to the storyline.
The conventions that make up this genre of the film include the following:
-Realistic storyline
-Troubled lifestyle
-Drama
-Tension
-The streets
This opening sequence of the movie has made a clear image to the genre of urban social realism. This makes me have a lot of ideas for my own opening sequence, e.g. the use of fast pace editing which I found very effective, it makes one very into the narration. This is a great use of editing and would be great if I use it on my opening sequence.

bullet boy textual anylsis
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hWhO_rmz3I Bullet boy opening sequence
The film I am analysing is bullet boy. The film was released in 2004 and directed by Saul Dibb. It starts off with advertising who created the film: 'BBC films' then fades to another logo indicating 'UK film council.' It then fades into a black background with BBC Films and UK Film Council in association with portman films then again fades into another background with the main characters name “Ashley Walters."
Cinematography
We start off by seeing a boy lying in a back of a car with a torch looking around trying to find where he is and he looks confused. The name of the film then appears in a white background with black bold font. This is in my opinion a clever idea as the title really stands out to me, an opinion coming from an audience. A transition is then used to fade out into a different scene, located in a prison cell by. The camera is faced in the mirror so that the audience is viewing the loaction through the mirror. A focus pull is suddenly in view focusing on a character. We automatically predict that this is the main character as he appears at the beginning of the film in a prison cell. The character gets up as he hears the door opening, followed by a police officer coming inside and tells him 'it's time to go.' The excitement on the character's face is undeniable as he writes down his details, claims his stuff and leaves.
We see a wide shot of the surrounding from his point of view showing that his options are unlimited. Then we go into a close up of the driver smoking, representing stress and is in need to relax. We go back to the beginning of the kid being in the boot of the car we know this because of the movement of the camera. The close up of the boy in the car is interesting because t makes the audience wonder why he is there and what has he done to be there. The movement causes the viewer to feel disgruntled for the boy and this leads them to be pulled in to effect of the opening scene.
Mis en scene
There is an extremely slow focus pull from the reflection in the mirror to later reveal the character at hand, this is effective because it causes the viewer to anticipate excruciatingly and makes them feel connected to the character. The prisoners costume causes the viewer to foresee his situation and feels as closed of as he is for the time being. The cigarette shows the audience how the character is feeling at this point in time, this can relate to anyone who smokes because they can feel the same way due to stress and anxiety.
Location
The location they used was a long field with one car path that can lead anywhere, therefore putting the viewer in an adventurous state as they don't know where this character is going taking the viewer with him. Not knowing causes exctiement and tension.
editing
The use of editing in this opening sequence is called parallel editing, which causes the viewer to feel that they are in two places at once which causes curiosity and confusion. However t also puts the audience in a previledged positition as the viewer gets to see whats going in two places as the same time, when the character themselves do not get that oppurtunity.
Sound
They use a non diegetic strings instrument to build up tension from the start; creating the audience to feel intense and excited. They use a sound bridge carrying on the strings to the next scene so the cuts would seamlessly go by even though the scene doesn't have any connection to the non- diegetic sound - this is incredibly confusing to the audience and may mislead them.
Conventions
Breaking the law
Fugitives
On the run
Smoking
Prisoner
Conclusion
This opening sequence made me think about what I wanted to add into my opening sequence. It inspired to consider including parallel edits in my own film because it had an effet on my as the audience, feeling confused and at the same time excited at knowing what is actually going on and what will happen and I would like to have such effects on my own audience.

Adulthood Textual Analysis.

Is this the ideal life for any teenager on their first steps towards their journey of Adulthood? Just finished six years of prison after murdering the protagonist Trife, Sam is attempting to begin to pursue his life when he finds that maybe his troubles have only just begun. He finds out that Trife’s close companions have grown up and are still holding a grudge against him. But with his mother and brother at risk by his perilous life, he decides to try and sort things out; however will it lead to another protagonist's death? A HORRIFYINGLY INTRIGUING MOVIE, A REALISTIC URBAN DRAMA.
During the beginning of the movie ‘Adulthood’ a wide shot was used to capture a couple and two further boys. All characters are facing the camera, looking at a car that had just parked up ahead. Behind these four characters we see heaps of people dancing in the background which instantly illustrates to the audience that they are at a party, rave or club. Additionally, with the non-diegetic sound used (party music) we are assured that this is some sort of party. We can hear lots of diegetic sounds of people talking and laughing and of course the conversation that is taking place with the main focused characters in this shot. Arguably the director Menhaj Huda used this wide shot in order to place these characters in some relation to their surroundings. Additionally it’s been used to represent today’s stereotypical youth. The wide shot keeps in view the setting and people and their costumes, which gives the audience an idea what these characters are like, they’re up late at night partying with heaps of people, some/ most of which they don’t know. It’s not a comforting image for certain types of audiences such as parents or older people in age; however for the younger audience this would be intriguing. Therefore it is clear that the intended audience for this film would be youths. They would enjoy viewing the type of life they lead themselves. However teenagers are not so aware that their choice of life could lead to bad consequences and this film introduces this to them. Maybe it will effect what youths do, perhaps leading to less teenage crimes in the world? You never know.
The first view we get of any of the characters is introduced to us by a high angle. We see a huge group of girls and boys dancing together at some sort of party. We hear blended sounds consisting of diegetic and non-diegetic; laughter, talking and with added music. This high angle may have been used to portray these characters as vulnerable and powerless. Arguably this image of them is juxtaposed with the choreography these characters use to dance with, portraying them as confident, a sign of power and self esteem. This angle could have been used to represent all these people as a group and not individuals; they reinforce the stereotypes of teenagers in general negatively. However because this is the first view we get of these characters, we do not know anything about them and the director may have used this angle to mislead the audience.
In the film Huda uses a camera movement called tracking. We see a girl who’s dressed masculine-like, with dull colours perhaps portraying that her life is empty and meaningless. As aforesaid we hear a mixture of sounds, people’s laughter and the background music. The camera is tracking a girl at a medium shot length perhaps to get a closer look at this character, maybe indicating that this is one of the main characters involved in the movie. This movement could have been used to show how this character represents her surroundings involving today’s youth. She reinforces the stereotypes of teenagers connoting the influences young people have on each other which are strong. One possible effect for the audience might be to create pure suspense as we start to ask, who is this girl, and why is the camera focused on her? We start to wonder what will happen next.
A really good piece of editing that was used in Adulthood: split screening. We see a split screen of two different moving images happening at the same time and place. One possible effect on the audience would be that it causes tension and excitement as the split screens focus on certain characters. Arguably this may be evoking that these characters are the ones to look for in the rest of the film. The director Menhuj Huda may have chose to use this piece of editing in order to reinforce the idea of stereotypes of todays youth by using certain moving images - some of which are sexually intimate and exposing, representing the negatively of it all. It also comes to a shock to the older audience as it's the first impressions we get of the characters which count.
The costume used in the opening scene is usually linked with the streets. It's very urban like which again reinforces the idea of stereotypical youths as it represents the immaturity they still hold even though they are grown into adulthood. My group is using a similar theme for our film which is urban realism and I really liked the idea of using similar types of costumes to reflect on our characters personalities in our opening film.
I was really fascinated by the editing consisting of wipes, split screen etc. I think it creates an exciting feeling to the audience especially as it was used to start the movie with as it brings the audience in from the start. we will definitely use the the types of editing in our opening sequence as it is vital that this beginning brings the audience rapped round it from the start.
There are certain props that caught my eye in the short clip. for example cigarettes reflect on their unhealthy characteristics as teenagers. I think it would be vital to include such props as it would reflect on the theme of urban realism.
